On Wednesday, BIS Hanoi students united in a sea of blue to celebrate World Children’s Day, an occasion to promote awareness of children's rights and advocate for a better future for every child.

In Secondary, our UNICEF student ambassadors, Nguyen Anh and Julie (Year 12), hosted a series of engaging workshops to explore the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). These interactive sessions encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of rights like education, safety, and equality, sparking meaningful discussions about how they can champion these principles within their community.

As Nguyen Anh shared "We believe that if every individual in the community is aware of these frameworks, we can ensure that our children rights remain a top priority, ensuring an inclusive and safe future for our our children." Through initiatives like workshops on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and student-led leadership projects, we continue to empower young voices to advocate for safety, inclusion, and equality—essential pillars of a better tomorrow.

Meanwhile, our Primary student leaders, including House Captains and the Student Council, took to the stage for a special assembly. They showcased the inspiring outcomes of the Primary Student Leadership Conference held earlier this term, where they honed skills in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Speaking with confidence and enthusiasm, they unveiled exciting plans to create a more inclusive and vibrant school community.

From organizing initiatives to improve peer collaboration to proposing creative ways to enhance school life, their ideas reflected a genuine commitment to positive change. World Children’s Day at BIS Hanoi not only celebrated children’s rights but also empowered students to take action, proving that their voices and ideas are instrumental in shaping a brighter, more inclusive future.
