Chalk Road project brings joy and inspiration to Thanh Kim schools

On December 13, 32 passionate volunteers from Chalk Road, led by our Year 12 students, Gia Khanh, Thai Anh, and Khanh Linh, returned to Thanh Kim Primary and Secondary Schools with immense excitement and purpose.

Upon arrival at Thanh Kim Primary school, the volunteers were warmly welcomed by over 700 students with radiant smiles, heartfelt greetings, and tight hugs. Chalk Road brought gifts worth 45 million VND, including two 65-inch Samsung TVs, a Casper air conditioner, and a range of books, art supplies, and educational materials to enhance learning facilities and inspire better academic achievements.

The volunteers then organised four engaging workshops in sports, drama, dance, and art. From lively tug-of-war games to drama exercises fostering creativity and confidence, each activity brought endless joy to the students. The art workshop featured a Christmas tree decoration project, while the dance workshop encouraged teamwork through fun games like the “Human Knot.”

At Thanh Kim Secondary School, the team enriched the library with 10 million VND worth of books, ranging from award-winning novels to history and economics texts, promoting a culture of learning.

The event concluded with an emotional farewell, as students clung to the volunteers, seeking autographs and sharing heartfelt goodbyes. Representatives from Thanh Kim District expressed gratitude for Chalk Road’s meaningful contributions, emphasising the programme’s impact on inspiring confidence and a brighter future for the students.

BIS Hanoi students were honoured to collaborate with the local community and government representatives, including the Vice Chairman of Thach Thanh District, who praised the initiative's meaningful impact. This incredible experience reinforces our commitment to making a difference, and we look forward to creating even more opportunities for the students at Thanh Kim Primary and Secondary Schools.
