Dear Parents,
Today, our regular Friday Primary Assembly was replaced by a huge Zumba session in the Sports Hall. This exhilarating session was certainly great fun for children and staff as well as celebrating a super end to our Keep Healthy, Stay Safe week.
Exercise was not just a Friday feature as the children have been learning about the effects of exercise on our bodies all week, with regular morning wake-ups. Zumba with Year 3, skipping with Year 4 and stair climbing with Year 6 are just some of the sessions that I had the pleasure of joining. Children have also learned about healthy foods, from making delicious smoothies in Foundation Stage to nutritious salads in Year 6. Another focus for our younger learners was finding out that keeping healthy includes washing hands and brushing teeth to prevent the spread of germs and harmful bacteria.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for team sports on Thursday. Due to the rain, the event was moved into the Sports Hall and the games adapted for the space however it was still a fast and energetic session with great participation from children and adults.
Our poster competition, to encourage children to wear helmets when riding bicycles or scooters received a lot of interest and many good entries were received. Ms. Elliott and her team had a difficult job judging but finally selected winning posters designed by Minh Uyen, Year 4 and Andy, Year 6. Congratulations!
Ms Sue Hill, Head of Primary
