This week, our BIS Lionhearts U11 team flew to Thailand to compete against six other international schools in the annual sports games organised by the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA).
It was my pleasure to award Nguyen Hoa Thuy Tien (Tina) and Le Hien Chuc An with prizes for co-designing the new BIS Hanoi Lionhearts logo. It was a stunning collaborative effort, which captured the spirit of our school, perfectly.
The competition was a fantastic opportunity for making new friends from different countries too, as you can see from reading the reflections below. Congratulations British International School Hanoi - you were truly amazing and demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, care, respect and integrity both on and off the pitch.
Competitive sport has gone from strength to strength at British International School Hanoi over the course of this year. We participated in local and international events, and the school is a full member of the Hanoi Activities Conference and the Federation of British International Schools in Asia.
Two weeks ago our IB Visual Arts students used their double lesson to visit the Hanoi Fine Arts Museum. British International School Hanoi students are about to start their Comparative Study which requires them to analyse and compare various works of Art from different cultural contexts. This visit provided them with an excellent opportunity to view works created by a range of Vietnamese Artists.
Five years ago in 2012, when we opened British International School Hanoi, I also ‘had a dream…’ and the dream, vision, or hope was that we would see our wonderful students performing outside the school environment at a high level. That dream has been realised in many ways over the last few years and two great examples of the fulfillment of my hopes happened this week.
British International School Hanoi Lionhearts performed beyond all expectations today, demonstrating exceptional performances both in Athletics and Swimming. The team arrived fueled and ready to perform – motivation and ambition was high with all students setting themselves goals for the day ahead
The British International School Hanoi Golf team arrived safely at the amazing Angsana Golf resort in Phuket. We were warmly greeted at the airport by our hosts from the British International School Phuket.
I often ask myself the question, “What do LeBron James, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Yuri Gagarin have in common?” The simple answer to that complicated thought is that each one of them, if they had been at British International School Hanoi during the last 24 hours, would have been simply amazed by what they saw.
All secondary parents are welcome to attend the Secondary Parent Information Morning- Tuesday 21 February 9am in the library. If you have a question for me or just want to know more about your child’s education at British International School Hanoi, please join us.
Today, our regular Friday Primary Assembly was replaced by a huge Zumba session in the Sports Hall. This exhilarating session was certainly great fun for British International School Hanoi children and staff as well as celebrating a super end to our Keep Healthy, Stay Safe week.
