Creating a pathway for success: A wealth of options at IGCSE
The IGCSE and BISC taught in Years 10 and 11 at BIS Hanoi offers a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum which equips students with a strong academic foundation. We have worked hard to build a curriculum that encompasses a broad range of subjects, tailored to our students' choices.
Each course is customised in order to fulfil our aim of preparing students for IBDP by fostering critical thinking, research skills, and a strong work ethic. As with all year groups, our wellbeing provision nurtures students to become well-rounded, balanced, and academically prepared individuals who are ready to flourish in the future.
A bespoke curriculum that prepares students for a dynamic world
To instil a growth mindset and prepare students not just for university, but also for a rapidly changing job market, we have designed three new courses for the current academic year.
Our Ways of Learning Programme in Years 7 - 11 provides extensive support to help students understand themselves, their dreams, and their identity as a learner. This collaborative effort guides them towards academic success across all phases.
Our new Global Citizenship Curriculum for Years 7 - 10 is rooted in our school values. It empowers students to engage with local and global issues, fostering awareness and responsible citizenship. It provides a foundation for CAS in the IBDP Core by allowing students to explore links with BIS Hanoi’s community partners.
Finally, our Digital Citizenship Curriculum for Years 7-9 is also closely aligned with our values. It encourages students to critically enquire and reflect on their online behaviour, digital footprint, and responsible digital citizenship.
We are proud that these innovations in our curriculum were developed in response to student and parent voices. They create the opportunities and skills for our students to learn how to adapt, persevere, and inquire deeply - essential qualities for success in an ever-evolving world.
