There was a real buzz around the Sports Hall as students met with representatives to learn more about courses, opportunities, and university life. The students who visited the fair are still on that exciting journey of planning their future in higher education, and in particular, our Year 13 students are currently preparing their applications to the very best universities around the world.
Last week, we were also fortunate to be joined by two former students: Tamsin, who is currently studying at Oxford University, and Harvey, who is now a performance analyst at Newcastle United Football Club. Both Tamsin and Harvey were once in the same position as our current students – attending university fairs, preparing applications, and utilising the teaching expertise and guidance in school to achieve their goals.
Year after year, our graduates are accepted into the best universities all over the world, but this doesn’t happen by chance or luck. It is achieved through working closely with students to ensure they are on the right pathway, and with expert guidance from our dedicated University Guidance Counsellor. These achievements are also the result of years of hard work, both in the classroom and beyond, as students strive to reach their full potential.
At BIS Abu Dhabi, our commitment to academic excellence remains at the heart of everything we do. However, academic success is just one piece of the puzzle. We are equally proud of the personal growth our students demonstrate every day. Whether through leadership opportunities, involvement in extracurricular activities, contributions to the wider community, or demonstrating our core values of Kindness, Honesty, and Respect, it all combines to make our students stand out on the global stage.
With our alumni returning and current students looking excitedly ahead, it serves as a timely reminder that the educational journey extends far beyond the walls of our classrooms. No matter what year group our students are in, we are equipping them with the skills and positive learning habits that will shape their future – and for our students, the future is indeed bright. If your child isn’t in Year 13 yet, they soon will be, and they will be more prepared than ever, for what comes next.
