This award is given to students whom teachers feel have gone ‘over and above’ what might be expected in their learning and in Charlotte’s case, Mr. Mitchell was especially impressed with her consistently high standards. He wrote:
‘’I would like to recognise her exceptional achievement in her Still Life A1 Pencil Drawing. On this project, Lottie demonstrated a mature approach to her studies and negotiated a different final deadline with me, since she knew it would take her much longer to complete to the standard she wanted to reach. Lottie has created a remarkable drawing that demonstrates her exceptional skills. Her use of shading and composition is truly impressive, and it is evident that she invested a great deal of time and effort into the project. Her attention to detail is remarkable and the result is an impressive work of art. What is equally impressive about Lottie's work is her dedication and ability to manage her time effectively. I have personally seen her working on her drawing whenever she has a free moment, demonstrating her sense of pride in her work. This level of dedication and commitment is highly commendable and demonstrates Lottie's determination to excel.’’
From all of us here at BIS Abu Dhabi, well done Charlotte!
In 2014 Mrs. Lowe arrived to teach at the British International School Abu Dhabi, excited to work with the Physical Education Department to implement and embed Dance within both the curriculum and the CCA programme. Schemes of work were created for FS1 to Year 9 and all PE teachers received professional development training to understand the fundamentals of Dance, to discover the importance of Dance and how movement can be creative and powerful.
Last week, Mrs. Stanier, our Head of Humanities, had the pleasure of accompanying three of our amazing students: Tia and Renad from Year 12, and Turkan from Year 10, to Houston, Texas, to take part in the NAE UNICEF summit. We were thrilled to be hosted by one of our Nord Anglia schools, The Village School in Houston, the first Child-Friendly City in the US recognised by UNICEF. The Village School is a boarding school, so the students got to experience what life was like as a boarding student there for the week.
