Congratulations to two of our Year 10 students who have been awarded a Headteacher's Commendation Award for achieving incredible results in the UKMT Maths Olympiad challenge and the Hamilton Olympiad paper.
Both students took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge, which is an hour paper with 26 questions, with a requirement to achieve more than 100 out of 135 marks. Dongha scored an impressive 123 marks and Hyeonmin scored a remarkable 112 marks. Both students qualified for the Hamilton Olympiad paper, which is a prestigious two-hour paper with 6 questions, 10 marks per question. Only the top 1500 students in the world are put forward for this. Dongha scored an exceptional 41 out of 60, and Hyeonmin scored a fantastic 33 marks out of 60. UKMT have awarded Dongha a Bronze medal (with Distinction) and have placed him within the top 100 in the world, while Hyeonmin achieved a Merit.

Students studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at The British International School Abu Dhabi once again performed significantly above the global average.
A total of 76 students at The British International School Abu Dhabi studied for IB exams this year. As well as achieving an outstanding pass rate, the students ’ average score was 33.6, exceeding the global average of 30.32.
