Meet Max -The Future of Motorsport
Max is not your typical Year 7 student. He has a passion that burns brighter than most, a passion that has taken him to the track time and time again.

Max, originally from Perth, Western Australia, joined the BIS Abu Dhabi family in FS2 in 2015. That same year, he attended his first F1 race at Abu Dhabi's YAS Marina Circuit, this is where his passion for motorsport sparked.

From that day on, Max has been completely focused on becoming a professional racing driver. He currently races for "BRAND RACING," which operates out of Dubai and competes in the Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) in the MINIMAX category. The RMC has approximately 11 races each season, with races scheduled in Al Ain, YAS F1 Circuit, Al Forsan, Dubai, and Oman. A typical race weekend starts on a Friday and finishes on Saturday or Sunday, depending on the number of races being conducted. Max sacrifices a lot of his free time to practice and attend race weekends.

But it's not just on the track that Max shows dedication to his passion. Off the track, Max puts in the time with a holistic approach to his kart racing ambitions. He trains weekly at the UFC GYM in Al Maqta, Abu Dhabi, as drivers need to be physically fit to deal with speeds of up to 110kph and G-forces they encounter over the duration of a race.

Already, Max has a multitude of attainments ticked off on his racing track list. He competed in his first-ever competitive kart race on the YAS F1 track in February 2022 and has raced in Muscat, Oman, as well as on the Al Forsan International Kart Track and Al Ain Raceway, and his current championship standing is 8th place.

We asked Max, about the ways in which his school education has helped him on the track. Max shared that Maths has been particularly helpful in enabling him to read and interpret data, which is crucial for understanding debriefs that rely on collected data. He also found the Physics topic taught in Term 1 to be useful.

Max emphasised that his teachers' support has been the most important factor in helping him maintain a balance between his academics and karting. Max's dedication to his passion has not gone unnoticed, and we at BIS Abu Dhabi are incredibly proud of his hard work and achievements in kart racing. We have no doubt that Max will fulfill his dream of becoming the best F1 driver in the world!

Make sure to keep an eye out for Max in the future, as he will undoubtedly be making waves in the world of motorsport (if you are interested in supporting Max with his racing aspirations, kindly respond to this newsletter and we will connect you).
