GCSE Year 10 Fine Art Exam

GCSE Year 10 Fine Art Exam - GCSE Year 10 Fine Art Exam
GCSE Year 10 Fine Art Exam
In last week’s newsletter we saw the fantastic cyanotypes created by our Year 10 Photography students in their Art & Design Exam at the start of last week.

As the Year 10 Mid-Year Exams draw to a close this week, it seems like a good opportunity to reflect on how they started the year, with all Arts exams, and take a look at what students did in their Fine Art assessment.

This year, students have been exploring the theme of Architecture, looking into drawing, painting, digital media and other mixed media techniques so far. Year 10 Fine Art exam students were encouraged to consider Architecture from a 2D relief and 3D perspective. Their brief was to investigate a range of paper and cardboard making techniques from the starting point of one unit (or geometric form), and then create a 3D dimensional sculpture through repetition.

We think you might agree, that for a first exploration into 3D work, the students were impressively risk-taking and imaginative in their interpretations of the brief, well done Year 10s!
