Music was played at the school entrance, and we even had a morning DJ set by some of our secondary students to mark the start of the day! The school was covered in beautiful yellow decorations to make the day feel extra special.
Primary students were greeted with a Random Acts of Kindness Checklist where they had to tick off all the acts of kindness that they had done that day. In the afternoon, students decorated their classroom windows with kindness messages.
Some students made thank you cards to the wider community such as hospital staff, refuge collectors, and home security.
Staff and students carried out random acts of kindness decided by spinning the interactive kindness wheel.
Secondary students enjoyed an outdoor Kindness Rocks concert at lunchtime, and we also saw the launch of our very own BIS Abu Dhabi Kindness Day music video!
All in all, it was a magical day, and we thank our BIS Abu Dhabi community for getting involved and spreading some extra kindness around on Monday.
Last week, Mrs. Stanier, our Head of Humanities, had the pleasure of accompanying three of our amazing students: Tia and Renad from Year 12, and Turkan from Year 10, to Houston, Texas, to take part in the NAE UNICEF summit. We were thrilled to be hosted by one of our Nord Anglia schools, The Village School in Houston, the first Child-Friendly City in the US recognised by UNICEF. The Village School is a boarding school, so the students got to experience what life was like as a boarding student there for the week.
