Name and a little bit about you:
Hi! My name is Santa or as students like to call me Miss. S. I have been teaching Music at BIS Abu Dhabi for two years.

Where is “home” for you?
I don’t really have a place to call home because my family live in two different countries. My dad lives in Latvia and my mum lives in England. I grew up in England, Suffolk and spent many years living and studying Popular Music in Essex. After completing my Primary Teacher Qualification, I worked in a pre-school and as a Class Teacher in Years 1 and 2. My favourite subjects to teach are Music, Phonics and Science.

What do you do in Abu Dhabi?
I like exploring places and learning something new. Sometimes, I like going to the desert. Other times, I really enjoy visiting places such as Yas Island and Al Hudayriat Beach. I think these locations are perfect for anyone.

What brought you to Abu Dhabi?
My love for the Middle East is one of the reasons why I decided to move to Abu Dhabi. I really enjoy learning all about the culture and religion. I also like the weather.

Tell us something that few people know about you:
I would rather clean my whole house than spend time cooking in the kitchen.

What is your favourite thing about being a part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community?
I really enjoy our school life. We have many themed days, a variety of Co-Curricular Activities (CCA’S) and exciting school trips. The broad curriculum is really engaging and there is always something exciting for both students and adults.

What tips of advice would you give to new families joining BIS Abu Dhabi?
I would highly recommend taking part in different workshops and events that are happening in our school throughout the year.

What do you enjoy most about living in Abu Dhabi?
Opportunities. I believe that Abu Dhabi is one of the safest places to make your dreams come true.

Anything else you would like to share?
I strongly believe that life is what we make it. Stay curious, keep learning, and keep growing.
