Name and a little bit about you:
My name is Fayaz, and I joined the BIS Abu Dhabi family way back in 2014 (seems like only yesterday). I work in the IT Department, and I am known by students by various names such as ‘The IT Guy, Computer Man and The Magic Man.’

Where is “home” for you?
I am originally from the Red part of Manchester. For anyone that doesn’t know it’s the UK’s first city!

What do you do in Abu Dhabi?
I try and spread love and joy to my fellow Abu Dhabians with my incredibly great sense of humour. I enjoy the lifestyle here along with the great weather. On the weekends I spend a lot of time in the garden. Not gardening, but in the pool. You can normally hear my tunes blaring out from a mile away!

What brought your family to Abu Dhabi?
Abu Dhabi is an amazing place. The sun never stops shining. The people here are so warm and welcoming. It is such a diverse, friendly community and I am proud to be a part of it.

Tell us something that few people know about you:
I have featured on UK television programs a few times. I appeared with the World Boxing Champion, Prince Naseem Hamed in one series. I was also in a series called Northern Rites which highlighted the diversity of the area I grew up in. I once walked 6 miles to see Muhammad Ali when I was very, very young! I remember allowing my friends to shake the hand that shook the hand of the greatest!

What is your favourite thing about being a part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community?
Everyone always greets you with a smile and a kind word. On the odd occasion they may even greet you with a packet of chocolate biscuits!

What tips of advice would you give to new families joining BIS Abu Dhabi?
BIS Abu Dhabi is a very friendly and safe place to be. Staff always go the extra mile to ensure students get the best experiences. New families must try and get involved in school life by attending the various events that take place. Not only do they get to meet other parents and school staff, but they can also have a coffee and a croissant too!

Anything else you would like to share?
My motto in life is: You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old.
