Are you ready to join BISAD?
This year the BSME Challenge was handed over to Year 12 Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) students to allow them to cover the creativity strand within the CAS programme, along with achieving the required criteria for the CAS Project. Daiana Nowaczynski and Abby Gill used the stimulus of a painting called Nocturne in Black and Gold- The Falling Rocket by James Whistler as a starting point for the choreography. The BSME Dance Festival theme this year was ‘Art in Motion’. The premise of the painting was to convey the mystical apparitions that appear and disappear out of the fog at a firework display show.
Daiana and Abby worked with Secondary students to create the dance. They showed tremendous creativity with their beautiful choreography ideas, displayed a wonderful sense of thought and consideration to the student’s ability. They collaborated successfully with each other and the dancers. They selected a magical piece of music that incorporated the theme with their movement material creating a sense of whole. The dancers were inspired to work with the Year 12 students, attending every dance rehearsal and committing to the project.
Congratulations to all involved!
