The UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) might be happening in Glasgow, but right here in the UAE, our Year 11 Geography students have been debating the use of renewable energies through considering a real-life case study surrounding the building of a solar farm.

Students wrote speeches from a variety of viewpoints including local residents and the environment agency in order to debate the building of a solar farm. They then voted to make a decision on its building. Interestingly not everyone was for the implementation of the new power source due to the impact that it had on the local areas biodiversity.
