I wrote to parents earlier today in greater detail than a newsletter article can permit. Should anyone not have received the letter please click here.
We reach the end of term with a great deal of positivity and success. Aside from the excellent examination results, this week we have been recognising lots of other achievements via the virtual assemblies. Successes in learning, in the BISAD Diploma, and in many other activities have all been acknowledged. It is wonderful that students can celebrate their achievements even though we cannot all be together.
As we look ahead, a brief summary regarding school reopening next term. Following recent conversations with authorities we fully expect school to reopen on August 30th with social distancing in place. It may not be possible for every student to attend every day in order to achieve this, but we will accommodate as many as we can. Virtual learning arrangements will also be provided to support anyone who may not be in school.
Once ADEK have collated the results from their recent parent questionnaire we will receive further guidance from them and will then adapt as best fits your feedback. We will keep writing to you throughout the summer whenever there is an update and specific communication methods will also be introduced so that any questions can be asked and swiftly answered. Please do keep an eye on your e-mails during the break.
The safety of all students, staff and parents will be the highest priority. Reassurance for all of us regarding the new arrangements will mean we can then focus on helping students get back into school, to care for their wellbeing and to concentrate on their learning.
I will conclude with a short reference back to today’s letter. Our school community has done an amazing job of supporting each other during the last few months. This is testament to our community spirit and also to the courage and resilience of the individuals involved, particularly the students. With this in mind, there is a very well-deserved summer break ahead!
I wish all families and peaceful and relaxing time and we look forward to seeing you all back for the new term and what will be a very exciting start back at school.
