Additionally within our Nord Anglia Education family of schools, we believe we should recognise that sometimes there is a need to lock a school down and keep students safely inside. This may be for a whole host of reasons, such as a potential concern inside the building or the possibility of a hazard outside. As such we have been reviewing lock down procedures and today we carried out the first lock down drill. This very simply meant we educated the students of all ages that there is one sound in our building to identify ‘Get Out’ and another to identify ‘Stay Safe Inside’. Staying safe inside means locking classroom doors, and taking cover. We were very proud of how our students handled the experience and wanted to share with you so that you may wish to discuss at home.
If you have any questions relating to this or want to find out more, please pop into the drop in coffee morning on Sunday at 8am. Myself and the team will be more than happy to talk this through with you.
