Our U9A team was able to build on the start they made last year and continued to develop their skills and tactics. The girls showed great team work and confidence in each other. They had a few losses at the start of the season but worked their way to a few draws and several wins towards the end, finishing third in their league. The girls showed the progress they have made during the end of season tournament, fighting for every ball, making brilliant passes and some great interceptions.
The U9B team is a completely new team with girls who have never played netball before. Their enthusiasm and excitement towards every game was phenomenal, which showed every time they won. Their looks of surprise were amazing every time. Their progress and team work led them to winning their league! Their faces and excitement when they went to collect the trophy was the highlight of my season!
The U11A team is an experienced team, with a few new additions. They are an independent team who has played together for at least two years. Their season started off a bit shaky, getting used to the lower posts and playing with some new people. The turning point for the team was a brilliant 17-2 win against Brighton College followed by a 14-0 win against BSAK. This was great motivation for the girls, who went on to give some brilliant performances in the end of season tournament, reaching their first ever final. Definitely another highlight of my season was the excitement when they beat BSAK 2-1 in the semi-final. They gave a great performance in the final and were very sporting runners-up.
The U11B team is a combination of old and new players. They worked hard throughout the season to develop their skills, especially their passing and moving skills. We worked hard on using set plays. All of their hard work was shown during their 9-3 win against Brighton College! The girls were a mixture of shocked and surprised every time they scored another goal but it made me a very proud coach for them to achieve what they did.
I have had a great season with all of the Primary teams. They have all worked very hard and have deserved the success that they all achieved. The girls are already trying to recruit their friends for next year. They are looking ahead to next season and excited to see what success it will bring for the girls and for BISAD.
