We are delighted to let you know that Ava has been nominated by Mrs. Heptinstall-Lowe for a Headteacher's Commendation Award. This award is given to students whom teachers feel have gone ‘over and above’ what might be expected in their learning and in Ava’s case, Mrs. Heptinstall-Lowe was especially impressed with her leadership skills and her consistently high standards. She wrote:
As I look out on the new road development that is happening directly outside my office, it helps me to reflect on the journey that has happened over the last twelve months. As a metaphor for schools ‘the road is always fascinating’, whether it is a change of direction, a fork or a bump in the road as well as being the driver or the passenger, this is the beauty of education, no route is the same.
Clocking off…
In almost every one of my many years in education, people have suggested to me, usually sometime in June, that I must be looking forward to ‘winding down’ in the summer term. Every teacher knows that the ‘End of Summer Term Wind Down’ is an urban myth…….it never happens!
