Our Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard artist faculty came together on Tuesday evening with an outstanding performance to inspire students and parents alike. Juilliard artist faculty around the world engaged the audience with exquisite performances filled with heart and soul. As an international student, it’s essential that my path to further education opens up a global passport for my future. The British International School Abu Dhabi is hosting an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme Information Evening at 6pm on Sunday 31st January 2016.
Parents and students are invited to attend, including current BIS Abu Dhabi families as well as those looking to join the school for the IB Course in Year 12 and 13.
As part of providing in-school adult learning opportunities for parents we are pleased to announce that English Language lessons will be offered in Term 2. The lessons will be delivered by an external teacher, David Warr, who has over 20 years experience in English language teaching.
Year 10 and 11 students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh International Award completed their practice journey on the weekend, successfully trekking 12 km across desert in over 35 degree heat to make their way to camp.
There are many factors that go into a successful education. We often consider the things which are most visible: the teacher, the resources, the homework for example. In this week’s article I want to raise another aspect which is Attitude.
As announced last week we are very pleased to launch in-school classes for parents commencing next week. These weekly adult learning opportunities will allow BIS to be a place of learning enjoyment for everyone, not only students.
We would like to invite FS2 parents to our workshop on Monday 5th October at 8am. The aim of the workshop will be to give parents a better understanding of how we teach Phonics and how you may help support your child at home.
We have received official confirmation that school will be closed on Wednesday 23rd September and Thursday 24th September 2015 to mark Eid Al Adha. School will resume again on Sunday 27th September 2015.
The Arabian Swim Academy will be hosting after-school inclusive swimming lessons with small graded classes, at BIS Abu Dhabi on Saturdays through to Thursdays.
