Having been incredibly fortunate to work with and learn from a variety of talented colleagues and pupils over the course of my career, I am regularly reminded that education is a journey that continues long after we leave the classroom. With this in mind, I try to use a range of learning opportunities across a variety of subjects to encourage children to develop many important skills that they can call upon the future. While focusing on the holistic development of all learners, my ambition is to provide a platform where all children feel that their ideas and opinions have value. In turn, this will motivate them to become learners who think reflectively, critically and creatively - skills that will prove invaluable as they start their own lifelong learning journey.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing and watching a wide range of sports, especially Gaelic football, rugby and tennis. I like to stay as fit and healthy as possible by running, swimming and going to the gym as often as I can. In addition to this, I am very passionate about travelling and use every opportunity available to continue my own learning journey by experiencing new cultures, cuisines and customs. For my reading, I love to learn about the past and how the world around me functions by studying history and exploring the sciences.
