Welcome everyone to a new academic year at Northbridge International School Cambodia. As this is my first post I thought it might be good to tell you something about me as the new Head of Secondary.
I have been teaching for quite a while now (over 20 years) and have taught in five different countries; England, USA, Switzerland, China and Malaysia. I trained as a science teacher with humanities and started teaching Biology, Geology and Geography but have subsequently taught Chemistry, Environmental Science and Economics.
We have an exciting year ahead and I am looking forward to meeting you all, hopefully in person sooner rather than later. I am not the only new member of staff joining the NISC community and I hope you will join me in welcoming them to school.
Just as an update: Microsoft Teams
Some exciting news is that as you may be aware the school has moved to Microsoft 365 which means that lessons will be conducted through Microsoft Teams. Please make sure your children can access Teams and if there are problems please contact your child’s advisor.
Deputy Head of Secondary
There are two Deputy Heads in Secondary both of whom I am very pleased to be working with. They are Ms Gillian Presland who is responsible for IBMYP (Grades 6 – 10) as well as University and Careers Guidance, and Mr Kohulan Jeganathan who is responsible for IBDP (Grades 11 and 12). Please contact them if you have any queries.
Once again, a warm welcome to everyone and let’s have an amazing year where we can continue to develop ‘Caring Hearts, Ambitious Minds’ with all of our learners.
As we approach a key milestone in the academic journey of our Grade 10 students, I am pleased to share the significant strides we have made in streamlining the transition process to Grade 11 and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP).
As the Personal Project Coordinator, one of the most rewarding aspects of my role is observing how the Personal Project allows students to develop essential skills that will benefit them long after they leave school.
With the UK university application deadline now behind us, there’s a palpable sense of excitement—along with a sense of relief on my part! Thirty of our students successfully submitted their applications, each able to choose five different universities on the UCAS application.
As students approach their final few months, the pressure to perform well intensifies. The IB Diploma Programme is known for its rigorous curriculum and high standards, making effective exam revision crucial for success. Here’s why exam revision and the upcoming mock exams are particularly important for Grade 12 students.
