Welcome to the update from the Northbridge International School Cambodia Parent Council, which follows their regular meeting and discussion. Here are the topics that were addressed at the latest meeting.
Students' virtual learning was the main topic of conversation at this month's Parent Council meeting.
Parent comments were varied, some felt that virtual learning has helped their child develop independence and a good concept of time management. However, some parents felt that their children do not have enough to do and struggle to present their work online with some classes, such as drama.
Parents suggested students be asked to do more research, and perhaps be given more varied ways on how to share what they have learned with others. Students should also be encouraged to focus and self reflect on how to handle these difficult times and the lessons we can all learn from it.
Mr Richard shared the #NagasCrushCovid campaign, which is a fundraising campaign to raise funds for food and hygiene kits costing $8 for those most affected by Covid in the community, and a good example of how Northbridge is looking to help students exemplify our values of 'Caring Hearts, Ambitious Minds'.
The NISC swimming and sports department has been working tirelessly to ensure that every child at Northbridge becomes water safe and understands the dangers of water from an early age.
