Despite campus being closed to students for a fortnight, this has still been a productive, exciting and enjoyable week of learning at Northbridge International School Cambodia.
Having received notice from the Cambodian government of the need to close schools for 14 days as a safety precaution, we immediately switched to our Virtual School Experience, an outstanding online education experience for every student, tailored to their individual learning needs and inspired by the global best practice from across our family of Nord Anglia schools.
Through using safe and secure platforms, our virtual school inspires your child through innovative lessons, unique learning opportunities and high-quality teaching as part of our special blended learning approach.
Our Virtual School Experience has two key aspects:
Connected time where Northbridge students can learn from their teachers ‘live’ using our safe and secure online platforms such as Google Meet and Seesaw
Guided time where pupils learn independently through tailored tasks set by their teachers
Striking the right balance between providing on and offline learning time allows your child to make the most of their personalised learning from home, no matter what grade they are in.
Students have been engaged in a multitude of tasks during the school day, as they would with on-campus learning, including interactive fun challenges in Early Learning, Google Meets for homeroom, music, languages, PHE and art in Primary, and a full day of online classes in Secondary. All day, teachers are available to assist and encourage students with their work.
As well as a week of learning, we’ve also had a special virtual version of our annual Spirit Week, where students and staff dress up on four unique theme days: Pajamas Day, Gaming Day, Dress as a Student or Teacher Day, and Pizza Friday. Students at home led the way with their fun outfits, while many staff, who are all teaching from campus, joined in the festivities.
We wish our entire Northbridge community a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, and encourage you to take some time away from devices and screens to spend quality time with your family.
