We are proud to announce that Northbridge International School Cambodia will be developing a new world-class Aquatics Centre that will be the centre of our Nagas swim programme. The grand opening is set for August 2020.
The covered facility, which will be located at the southern end of the Football Field, directly adjacent to the Sports Hall, will be home to a 25 metre-long, eight lane main swimming pool built to FINA specifications (FINA is the international governing body of swimming, diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and open water swimming).
Along with the main pool, there will also be a splash pool, training deck, boys and girls changing rooms, and seating for 150 spectators. The Aquatics Centre will be one of the best swim facilities in Cambodia, and provide a premium world-class swim training facility, all the way from learn-to-swim in Early Learning, through to the elite Nagas Gold Swim Team.
With room for more than 150 spectators, it will also provide an electric atmosphere for inter-school swimming meets, which include both domestic (Phnom Penh) and international.
With this addition of a world-class Aquatics Centre, alongside the existing covered all-weather Sports Hall, which already provides space for two basketball/volleyball courts and three tennis courts, plus the Playing Field and Football Field, Northbridge offers unique sporting facilities on its 20 acre campus providing the best possible platform for our students to truly excel.
The other week I was in Bangkok at the ASAC Basketball Tournament that is open for Grade 6 – 8 students from 9 competing schools across South East Asia. It gave me some time to reflect on the benefits and opportunities that our Northbridge students can access that will develop them holistically and physically.
Here at Northbridge International School Cambodia, we have the privilege of having an amazing 25 meter undercover swimming pool on campus. The school swim program is embedded in our curriculum from EL2 to Grade 10.
