The Northbridge International School Cambodia Grade 4 and 5's have been training this past unit in PHE for a biathlon (running and swimming). This unit focused on goal setting and students working towards their personal bests.

The final event was a 250m swim followed by a 1600m run. The students could aim for a time range of either Gold (0-20min) Silver (21-30min) or Bronze (30+ min).

In grade 5 the unit of inquiry looking at the scientific method so students were able to use their data from training to predict their outcomes and set goals. As a class we learned about pacing, breath control and overall improvement in technique.
Overall the students had a very successful day, most of our students achieved silver and some gold. Our top time for grade 4 14:38 and top time for grade 5 was 14:06.
We are proud of the determination all our students showed and look forward to another great semester next year in PHE.
The other week I was in Bangkok at the ASAC Basketball Tournament that is open for Grade 6 – 8 students from 9 competing schools across South East Asia. It gave me some time to reflect on the benefits and opportunities that our Northbridge students can access that will develop them holistically and physically.
Here at Northbridge International School Cambodia, we have the privilege of having an amazing 25 meter undercover swimming pool on campus. The school swim program is embedded in our curriculum from EL2 to Grade 10.
