The first season of Secondary sport at Northbridge International School Cambodia has now come to an end, and we are very proud of our student athletes for a great start to the year. Our Nagas were not only successful at the local level, but also were highly successful on the international stage in competition.

Over this season our teams worked hard, stayed committed and ultimately came together to show what great athletes we have here at NISC. Our teams ranked in the top 4 of every competition they were in this season.

Junior Basketball

Both of our Junior Basketball teams had very strong seasons throughout friendly matches and at tournaments. The girls and boys both played very well at the ISSAPP finals tournament both earning a spot in the finals. Although both teams were up against strong local competition they were able to persevere win two championship titles with convincing leads. It is clear that their hard work in the season paid off and continued as they went to ASAC. Throughout the pool play the teams did very well only losing one game each. Once again both teams made it to the finals after well fought matches in the round robin. The girls finished in second losing to the only undefeated team at the tournament.  The boys were once again crowned champions as they played a very strong final winning by 10 points.

Senior Volleyball

The Senior teams had steady seasons progressing and developing well. The girls went to the local ISSAPP tournament with few wins on their record but worked very hard throughout the day placing 4th. Their hard work and dedication continued to push them to victory in ASAC where the girls played a crucial crossover game beating an undefeated team to go to finals. The girls finished second at ASAC, bringing home the silver medal for the Nagas. The boys had a strong local season losing only two games in regular season play. At the local ISSAPP finals the boys played well moving them to the finals, they came second after a well fought final game.  At ASAC the boys started strong but got could not keep the same momentum during the semi-finals and finals rounds, although most of these matches were very close the boys finished in 4th place.

We are looking forward to Season 2 getting underway with Junior Football and Senior Basketball trainings already started.

Go Nagas!
