Thanks to such outstanding academic results for the 2021/2022 year, one in two Nord Anglia students are going on to attend a top 100 university globally, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Harvard University, Stanford University, and many more.
Nord Anglia — as the world’s largest provider of the IBDP — announced an amazing set of IB results in July, with 1,600 students in 42 schools worldwide sitting the exam, with an average IB diploma score of 35.1. These great results have opened pathways to the world’s best universities, and we wanted to highlight a few of our students’ destinations below.
Shaun Williams, Regional Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Middle East & India: "We're incredibly proud of our students for achieving outstanding academic results this year, particularly given the personal challenges that they've all faced over the last two years. These results will see them attend the world's best universities. But it's not these results alone that we use as the marker to define success. It's their strong character, independence, willingness to learn, and their determination to make the world a better place that will propel them forward in life, and it's always a privilege to be a witness to their continuing growth after Nord Anglia."
For students graduating from Nord Anglia schools in China, they received offers from standout universities on the QS top universities list, both abroad — including Imperial College London and University College London — as well as those closer to home — such as Peking University and the University of Hong Kong.
One such student is Jessica from The British School of Beijing, Shunyi who will be attending Imperial College London to study Medical Bioscience after achieving an excellent IBDP score of 40 out of 45. Also from BSB Shunyi are Tiger, accepted by Loughborough University to read International Business; Daniel, headed to the University of Illinois Chicago's Department of Electrical Engineering; and Phillip accepted by the prestigious School of Art Institute Chicago.
Another impressive student is Sandra, from the British School of Guangzhou. She is headed to the University of Cambridge and plans to specialise in education, policy, and international development.

For example, students from Chicago South Loop received offers from Stanford University, while Windermere Preparatory School’s class of 2022 were accepted into six of eight Ivy League schools including Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, and University of Pennsylvania, and received an impressive US$18 million in scholarships. Sandra, a graduate from Colegio Menor Quito, received the prestigious Lester B. Pearson Scholarship to attend the University of Toronto, which recognises outstanding students from around the world.
In Europe, our students had amazing offerings from the top-ranking universities, such as our Rotterdam school where students are heading to Kings College London, University of Toronto, University of Leeds, St Mary’s College, and others.
From International College Spain, Hugo was one of the top three IBDP scorers this year, achieving a perfect 45/45 points and earning a place at Imperial College London to study Aerospace Engineering.
He said, “With the support and patience of my teachers — especially helping me with my Internal Assessments and relentless questions — I managed to reach my 45-point offer at Imperial, something I had previously thought impossible as it seemed beyond reach, and something I am deeply grateful for. I will strive to make the most of this opportunity, opening doors in the aerospace sector to hopefully aid us in colonising Mars”.
Also amongst the top three scorers at ICS with a perfect 45 was Alba, who’s now going to Cambridge University to study Natural Science. She said after finishing her studies at Cambridge she aims for start a career in scientific research, specialising in particle or theoretical physics.
From Collège du Léman in Switzerland, Polina has been accepted into Oxford University to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She attained the maximum score of 45 on her IB Diploma as well.
Our Southeast Asia students had a plethora of outstanding university offers, here is one standout student out of many:
Catherine from Dover Court in Singapore achieved 44 points in her IB Diploma and will be heading to Imperial College London to study Molecular Bioengineering. She said, “I still remember when in Year 8 Mr. Jury showed us a philosophy video during form time. I had just come from a non-English speaking country and that was the first time I watched a Crash Course video, since then a new world had opened in from of me.
"Through my six years at Dover Court, I’ve met amazing teachers and friends here who supported me mentally and set examples for what kind of person I want to be. They...really built up my confidence and supported me to reach my dream.”
Our students in the Middle East did amazingly well and received amazing university offers globally. A student from Abu Dhabi, Safa joined the BIS Abu Dhabi family in 2014 in Year 6 and, after completing eight years at the school, graduated with the maximum score of 45 points in the IB. She will now attend the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences and wants to become a doctor.
