When teachers join Nord Anglia Education, they join an organisation that wants the best for them.

“Once you’ve joined a Nord Anglia Education school, we want you to stay long-term and grow your career with us,” Mike Embley, Regional Managing Director China International, said.

“We’re committed to helping our staff thrive and facilitate an array of career development opportunities to do just that.”

This week, at Nord Anglia Education’s ‘Outstanding Teachers for Outstanding Schools’ event in London, Mr Embley told potential teaching candidates for roles in China about what they could expect.

‘Outstanding Teachers for Outstanding Schools’ London brings together hundreds of potential candidates for teaching and other staff positions. This year, these final-round candidates were selected from a pool of more than 18,000 applications.

Mr Embley said that working in China with Nord Anglia Education meant teachers gain the opportunity to gain experience in outstanding schools with excellent facilities and working with fantastic students from more than 60 nationalities.

“China and Hong Kong are among the safest places to live and make for ideal places for teachers starting their careers,” he said.

Mr Embley said one of the benefits for teachers working abroad meant that they were also able to take advantage of travel to nearby destinations that have rich histories and cultures.

He said due to Nord Anglia Education’s size, teachers benefit from extensive career development opportunities, including access to the Masters of International Education course designed specifically for Nord Anglia Education, at King’s College London.

Nord Anglia Education also has a Talent Framework to identify, assess and help develop key talent across the organisation, with a defined set of leadership capabilities and Teacher Standards defining excellence.

The Framework allows for developmental discussions and enables a robust performance management process.

These opportunities are only set to grow, with a number of brand-new NAE bilingual schools set to open in the China region in 2019 and 2020.
