British School Warsaw has been recognised for increasing access to the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

The British School Warsaw was recognised for its leadership role in extending the range of the International Baccalaureate (IB) course options available to students at Nord Anglia Education’s 27 schools globally, and its broader commitment to increasing access to the IB curriculum worldwide.

As an IB Open World School, the British School, Warsaw is at the forefront of increasing access to the IB Diploma Programme, using innovative on-line and blended pedagogies to reach students worldwide. In addition to supporting its own IB students, the school is authorised to support non-IB students who may wish to enrol in individual IB Diploma Programme courses online. The courses are designed for academically motivated students, age 16-19.

“We are offering these on-line distance learning options alongside our more conventional offer in order to make available to our students the most comprehensive range of subject options possible.” said Professor Deborah Eyre, Education Director.  “The skills that our students will learn, collaborating online with other students from around the world, will prove valuable in their future studies and careers”.

The on-line courses offered by The British School, Warsaw have been developed by Pamoja Education, an Oxford, UK-based social enterprise, in close collaboration with the International Baccalaureate. Students are taught by experienced IB teachers, in a highly interactive, international environment.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to extend the choices of courses available for IB Diploma students across the world and it is a real honour to be part of this exciting new initiative” said Dr. Terry Creissen, Principal at The British School, Warsaw. “We are really pleased to be able to support students across the Nord Anglia Education family of schools though on-line learning programmes and we are very grateful for the close collaboration and support provided by the IBO and Pamoja Education.”
