This week’s Winter Concerts at NAS Abu Dhabi have been a vibrant celebration of music, creativity, and community. From our youngest performers in EYFS to the skilled musicians in Secondary, every moment reflected the energy, talent, and commitment of our students, and the importance of an education that values the creative and performing arts.
These concerts, some of the most anticipated events in our calendar, are a testament to the value we place on creativity and the performing arts, and the role they play in shaping confident, well-rounded individuals. These performances showcased the depth of skills developed through our 6Cs: creativity, curiosity, collaboration, commitment, critical thinking and compassion.
Each concert brought its own magic. We began on Monday morning with the charming EYFS concert, where our FS1 and FS2 students captured our hearts with their melodic performances, energetic dances, and adorable headpieces. Their joy and enthusiasm lit up the room, and it was fantastic to see our youngest learners perform so confidently. Monday afternoon showcased the remarkable talents of our Upper Primary soloists and ensembles, who delivered stunning renditions of When I Grow Up, Hot Chocolate, and Sky Full of Stars. Their voices and ensembles were a beautiful reflection of their hard work and musical talent.
The festive spirit continued Tuesday morning as our Lower Primary concert brought even more festive cheer. Year 1 delighted us with their rendition of Hey Winter, while Year 2 raised the roof with Snow, Snow!, complete with synchronised dance moves that left everyone smiling. The Primary Choir added to the festive cheer with professional and uplifting performances of Blitzen Boogie and Walking in the Air, showcasing their dedication and hard work. The Secondary Winter Concert brought the week to a close with performances that highlighted the talent and commitment of our older students. Key Stage 3 impressed with their festive classics, and the concert also featured advanced instrumental performances, demonstrating the incredible heights that can be achieved through dedication and perseverance.
Our concert series also celebrated the accomplishments of our most talented instrumentalists. A special thanks to IMIG for their invaluable support in nurturing and developing our students’ musical skills. The graceful Ballet Troupe and the courageous Musical Theatre Troupe added elegance and theatrical flair, each shining brilliantly on stage.
The Winter Concert Series culminated on Friday morning with a joyful Busking Session, a heartwarming event that brought students, parents, and teachers together in song. It was a wonderful way to end the term, celebrating community and the power of music.
“It is an absolute privilege to work with such talented students and to be part of a community that values and supports the arts so wholeheartedly."
Marie Connolly – Director of Creative Arts
