Dear Parents,
This week kicked off with our fantastic Sports Day event at Kowloon Bay Sports Ground, which was a great success! The students embraced their House spirit, and it was wonderful to see their enthusiasm throughout the day. Next week’s Parent Update will share highlights from the day.
Last Wednesday, many students participated in the MFL Mother Tongue Assembly led by Mr. Kajkowski, highlighting their diverse language skills. I'd also like to congratulate all the students who took part in the MFL Duolingo competition—well done for all your personal achievements!
Over the weekend, I attended the Chinese International Schools' Conference in Shanghai with Mrs. Rankin from Secondary and several colleagues from both EYFS and Primary. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with leaders from other NAIS China schools, and to share effective practices happening across our region.
On Wednesday, we look forward to welcoming our Year 11 and Year 13 parents to Kwun Tong for Parents’ Evening. You can find more information relating to this below. We have also thoroughly enjoyed welcoming our Year 6 students to the Secondary Campus to enjoy their transition sessions today and look forward to meeting more of our future secondary school students Thursday.
Finally, in celebration of International Women’s Day on Saturday 8th March, our students will be taking part in a range of engaging activities over the coming weeks. I wish all those involved in delivering these the very best and my thanks for their efforts in recognising this important day.

U16 Girls Badminton
Congratulations to our excellent U16 girls' badminton who beat Stamford American School 4-1 and ICHK 3-2 in a great show for badminton on Wednesday. Some titanic games that went beyond the normal winning score of 21 points, such was the close nature of the competition. A great start to the competitive season.
Art Award – Mr. Watt
I am proud to present Isabelle Luk, a talented and dedicated artist in Year 12 who has recently won an award for her artwork. Isabelle tells us about her achievement in the following text. Congratulations Isabelle!
'The Kids Art Competition' is an annual art competition launched by the insurance company China Life (Overseas). In my entry “Hong Kong Airport”, I wished to incorporate the boundless world and juxtapose it with the significance of each individual by bringing this 500-figure work to life through ink pens and alcohol markers. This was finished over the span of 30 days. It was a grueling but worthwhile process because I learned many vital skills. My artwork managed to receive the Professional Gold Award. I would like to thank my teachers, peers and family for supporting me throughout the journey!
News From the IB Suite – Mrs. Holt
Last Wednesday, we had Lingnan University, HK come and talk to our students about Liberal Arts Education in the digital age. This university offers exciting and creative programs with a rich history spanning centuries and a host of impressive alumni stories. Furthermore, Mrs. Jennings, KS4 Coordinator, shared her academic and personal journey with our IB students during this week’s #FiresideFridays. Our students are learning a lot about different pathways, resilience, and what success really means.
Hong Kong International Literary Festival: Young Readers Festival – Mrs. Turner-Fall & Miss. Bates
Following what was an incredible Sports Day, our school hosted Kern Carter for an author visit this morning.
As a part of the Hong Kong International Literary Festival: Young Readers Festival, Years 8, 9, 10 and 12 students were all invited to hear Kern Carter speak on “Writing for Passion and Profit - How I turned my passion for writing into a profitable Career.”
We thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm and can’t wait to share more with you about the visit next week!
