Dear Parents,
We have a very exciting and eventful week ahead of us here at our school, starting with our Mid-Year reports being published this afternoon. We are incredibly proud of all our students and the progress they have been making in their learning, development, and overall well-being. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child's school report, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's class teacher. They will be more than happy to schedule a time to speak with you and address any questions you may have.
Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs)
Last week marked the beginning of our Term Two ECAs, and it was heartening to see so many children enthusiastically participating in our ECA program. Exploring different activities helps children discover new interests, develop essential social skills across different age groups, and fosters creativity and teamwork.
Last week the Funky Fingers Club were busy in the garden, creating beautiful natural necklaces. The activity provided a fun and playful way for children to enhance their dexterity and improve their manipulation of tools. These activities are not only enjoyable but also aid in the development of fine motor skills, which are crucial for tasks such as writing and drawing.
Our Going Green Club is gearing up for an exciting term of planting and caring for vegetables and flowers in our Nursery Garden and rooftop garden. The children are already buzzing with excitement about the upcoming harvest, especially the carrots they are growing. This hands-on experience teaches children about responsibility, teamwork, and the wonders of nature.
It was wonderful to see so many children participating in Yoga last week. Taking time to learn mindful and relaxing exercises at a young age is invaluable for promoting well-being and health. Yoga helps children improve their focus, flexibility, and emotional regulation, fostering a sense of calm and balance in their everyday lives.
Upcoming Events:
This week, we are eagerly anticipating our Nursery children's first trip to KidsFest, where they will watch a Theatre production of 'The Lion Inside.' This heartwarming tale about confidence, self-esteem, and self-discovery promises to be an enriching experience for our young learners. We can't wait to hear all about it when the children return!
Parent Workshop Thursday 8:45 – 10:00am
On Thursday morning, we will be hosting a Parent Workshop focusing on how we support children's Mathematical Development and the importance of developing their Numbersense. Parents will have the opportunity to observe explicit approaches used in class to promote mathematical learning through teacher-led activities and opportunities created within the learning environment and continuous provision.
We are looking forward to another engaging and productive week. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth Hanson
