Primary Campus Weekly Update

Primary Campus Weekly Update - Primary Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Thriving schools

The strength of thriving schools comes from a shared culture and understanding of how to help our schools to improve outcomes for our children and the wider school community.

Here at NAISHK, we inculcate the skills and understanding within our teaching community that helps us to achieve more than we think is possible. We see the impact of this across our school community and today I wanted to begin a series of insights on how we achieve these outcomes by shining a light on our amazing educators, starting today with Mrs. Thomson, our Deputy Head of Primary.

Mrs. Thomson has been at NAISHK for six years and brings a wealth of experience to her role from leading curriculum as Head of Maths in the UK to initiatives such as Maths: Less is More here at NAISHK and, she is currently the Metacognition Project Lead alongside exceptional colleagues in school and across the NAE group. She will be presenting at the prestigious EDUtech Asia 2024 Singapore in November where she will share her insights into Metacognition and its promise for education. Outside of school, she has a community role as Head of the Sai Kung Stingrays Netball club — a position she has held since June 2023. In this role, along with a team of volunteers like her, she has had the opportunity to inspire and empower over 173 players across 16 teams, instilling in them the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and community. Mrs. Thomson remains steadfast in her belief that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for all.
