Dear parents,
What a fantastic start to our enrichment week programme we have had today. The rain did not dampen any spirits and all of our Year 2 students were amazing Ancient Egyptians and had a great day experiencing life in Ancient Egypt. Our Chinese department were sharing their cookery skills across the school and every class were involved in some form of enriching the normal curriculum today.
Our new Head of Primary, Mr Stephen Sharma, flew in from Thailand to spend some time in Lam Tin and the wider Hong Kong in preparation for his and his family’s move to Hong Kong in July. Some of our year 5 children had the opportunity to ask him some questions about his hobbies and life as a teacher, we will share his answers with you in a future update.
As we welcome Stephen Sharma, we also say good bye to two of our Primary teachers, who are moving onto new adventures in other parts of the world. Mr Tom Birbeck who joined us last year is relocating to Australia for personal reasons and Mr Alex Denham who joined us in 2022 is relocating to Brazil to work within our NAE school in Sao Paulo. These are the only teachers who are leaving the school this year, so you will be very pleased to hear that all our other teachers are staying within the school.
Miss Emma McGinty who is currently in our Sai Kung campus will be moving to Lam Tin in August and Mr George Moon, will be moving from our PE department into a class teacher role within the school. George is a fully qualified and experienced primary class teacher who is also a PE specialist so he will be swapping his PE kit for more formal attire in August.
As we head into the final few weeks, we have a lot of exciting events and activities planned, please do check the details below for our End of term events and ensure they are booked into your diary.
We are really looking forward to our International Day this week and staff and parents have been working hard in preparing for this. We have had an amazing response for parent volunteers and the numbers keep growing. Thank you so much to everyone who is involved in this special day and I am really looking forward to it.
