In closing our Secondary Prize Giving event, below is a poem that I read out to our students, titled “Oh, What A Year”.

Oh, What A Year.
Little Shop of Horrors, was a botanical thrill,
Sport’s Day energy, our spirits did fill.
Model United Nations, with debates so grand,
Dr Frost’s maths wisdom, always a guiding hand.
Maths Olympiads and literary festivals, challenged our minds to soar,
Enrichment week left us asking for more!
Chinese New Year brought vibrant delight,
International Day embraced our cultures, oh so bright.
House spirit filled the auditorium, many a day,
Windsor, Balmoral, Caernarfon, and Sandringham we praise!
Typhoon days off gave us respite from the grind,
Black rain couldn’t dampen our spirits or our minds.
Even a mischievous monkey visited Kwun Tong,
Hoping to taste Angelo’s paninis or perhaps sing a song?
It’s been a year of adventure, progress and success,
Personally, for me, I feel very blessed,
To lead and be part of this incredible team,
Of talented students and staff - you are a dream.
Now it’s time to celebrate, reflect and then rest,
We have almost made the Year through; we have given it our very best.
Be proud of what we have achieved and what we have done,
Let’s enjoy summer break and go get some sun!

SECONDARY SUMMER CONCERT
On Tuesday evening we hosted our end of year Summer Music Concert. With 98 students involved across 11 ECAs and ensembles, they performed Classics by Shostakovich and Vivaldi, Jazz by Herbie Hanock, Film music by John Williams and Pop songs by The Cranberries and One Direction. The choirs and bands performed with gusto and smiles, showing off all they had been working hard on over the course of this year.

Last year we began the tradition of including a Concerto soloist in our End of Year Concerts. Concertos are very technically demanding pieces for solo musicians with orchestral accompaniment, written for virtuosic musicians to show off their skills and talents. Last year we featured Year 12s Natalie Poon and Luna Huang and this year no different as we featured Year 12 Soleil Chan as our piano soloist. He chose to play the first movement from Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D Major, which was a roaring success.

SPORTS UPDATE
The U12 Girls Football finals showcased the team's resilience and growth. In their first game, they faced a physically aggressive Carmel team, creating promising scoring opportunities that unfortunately went unfinished. Carmel emerged as winners with a 6-0 victory. In the battle for 3rd place against DSC, the girls took an early lead but faced two quick goals from DSC. A goal just before halftime made it 3-1. NAIS HK responded swiftly after the break, but two more goals secured a 5-3 defeat. Despite the outcome, the girls gained valuable experience and displayed remarkable development throughout the season. They should be proud of their achievements. Well done!

IB TASTER DAYS
On Tuesday 11th June and Wednesday 12th June we welcomed our Year 11 students back to Kwun Tong campus to carry out two IB transition days.

Our Year 11 students participated in the following introductory sessions.

The Year 12 were challenged through an ‘IB Quiz’ to carry out research to answer IB specific questions such as below.

The Year 11 fed back that that they particularly enjoyed interacting with our Year 12 students to learn more about the IB.

Another pertinent aspect of the introductory days was Mr McIntosh explaining the IB Mathematics courses in more detail and introducing the ‘Graphical Display Calculator.’ This is a powerful tool which supports IB students with computation and problem solving in Mathematics.

YEAR 11 GRADUATION
In Year 11, our students celebrated the end of their IGCSE examinations at the annual Year 11 Prize Giving Ceremony. Students ended their IB Taster Sessions in style at what can only be described as a wonderful celebration of their talents and achievements. It was a privilege to see our Year 11s receive certificates for their hard work before and during the IGCSEs, whilst being congratulated for their strengths in various subject areas. Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students, and sincere good luck wishes to all those who are moving on to pastures new in August.

INTERNATIONAL DAY CELEBRATIONS
Our Secondary International day last Thursday was a huge success. Students had the opportunity to visit 18 different countries, receiving passport stamps from each country!

All students explored and experienced the rich cultural diversity of our community. The highlights of our event were the numerous stations set up by our fabulous parents, allowing students to sample different cultures, traditions, music, and cuisine, followed by a magnificent student and parent parade.

A huge thank you to our PTA and parent community for their support, in what was one of the highlights of the academic year!
