Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of the academic year, I am filled with a sense of pride and excitement as we celebrate the achievements of our students and prepare for their transitions to new classes and to our Lam Tin campus.

This past week was particularly eventful, as we discussed the upcoming changes with the children, ensuring they were ready for their next adventure. It was wonderful to see our Nursery children eagerly exploring the Reception classrooms and meeting their new teachers during our 'Moving Up' day. The Reception children also had the opportunity to investigate their new Year 1 classrooms with Ms. Millington, Ms. Liz, and Ms. Reni, full of anticipation for the year ahead.

For our Reception students moving to our Primary Campus in Lam Tin, we were thrilled to undertake a transition morning where the children enjoyed visiting their new campus and exploring the different areas. This Wednesday, our Year 1 students will be making their final visit to Lam Tin, ready to embark on their Year 2 journey.

I know that all our children are more than ready for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, whether it's a new class, a new school, or even a new country. For families that are leaving NAIS HK, I want to thank you for the privilege of being part of your child’s early learning journey, it has been our joy to see them grow and thrive. I know they will be taking very fond memories of our pre-school with them, and I am confident they too are ready for their next adventure.

As we embrace these transitions, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to some of our special staff members who will be leaving us at the end of this academic year.

Ms. Ranj and Ms. Kathy will be exploring new career opportunities, and Nurse Sinju will be moving to the UK with her family. Every staff member contributes to the life and culture of our pre-school, and I want to thank them for their care and dedication and for being a part of our school. We will miss them greatly, but we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

I would also like to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible contributions of Ms. McGinty, who has been an integral part of the NAIS Sai Kung community for the past 6 years. Her dedication, passion, and exceptional teaching have made a lasting impact on every child she has taught, as well as the guidance and support she has provided to her colleagues. Thankfully, Ms. McGinty is not leaving NAIS HK but will move to our Primary Campus where she will take on a new and exciting role and teach in Year 3.

As we look forward to the week ahead, there is still much to celebrate. Our End of Year celebrations, Reports, and our School Party on Thursday are all eagerly anticipated. Today, we had the pleasure of joining together with parents and friends to honour the achievements of our Nursery and Year 1 students, who shone brightly on the stage. I can't wait to see our Reception classes take to the stage on Wednesday and share in their accomplishments.

Parents, thank you for your unwavering support throughout the past year (and for some families the past 3 years). Your involvement and partnership have been invaluable to the life of our school, and we are truly grateful.

As we begin to bid farewell to this academic year, I am excited to see what the future holds for our students. Wishing you all a wonderful last week of this academic year.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Hanson
