Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

This week, our children had a fantastic time exploring patterns, numbers, oceans and engaging in exciting learning opportunities across the campus. Here's a summary of what happened in each year group:

NURSERY

Our Nursery children have been on a fascinating numerical adventure. They have been busy with number recognition, ordering numbers, and developing counting skills. The children demonstrated fantastic recognition skills and some even grasped the concept of "1 more" and "1 less" than a given number. We are amazed by their growth and enthusiasm for numbers.

RECEPTION

The Reception classes had a blast delving into the fascinating world of patterns. They enthusiastically engaged in three/four-part actions and created patterns using counters and paints. Our talented students then made their very own party hat decorating them with three/four-part patterns which they then wore in a lively ‘pattern’ party. It was a joyful celebration of learning and collaboration.

YEAR 1

Our Year 1 students have had an eventful week, reviewing and improving their written work and exploring the concept of halving amounts in mathematics. They also embarked on a learning journey about the great oceans, igniting their curiosity and being able to identify the different oceans on a map. It has been a week of growth, exploration, and deepening knowledge for our Year 1 learners.

EXCITING RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY

We are thrilled to announce that our campus will host a research team from the Boston Research organisation. They will collaborate with our school and other Nord Anglia schools around the world to explore metacognition in early education. This presents a unique opportunity for our children and teachers to engage in cutting-edge research, enhancing our understanding of young learners' metacognitive skills. We eagerly anticipate the insights and developments that will arise from this collaboration.

We are excited to witness the continued growth and achievements of our children. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Hanson
