Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to school. We hope you all had a restful holiday and are feeling refreshed as we dive into the second half of the term. It's wonderful to see the children so happy, excited, and ready to play and learn with their friends again. On our first day back at school, we’ve been constructing, creating and having lots of fun problem solving in our Waterplay and Den Making.

Upcoming Events

Speech and Language Screenings
Tomorrow, we are excited to welcome Ms. Henri Olesen to our campus. She will be conducting Speech and Language Screenings for the children whose parents have registered for this event.

Ms. Olesen visits our campus each week to support children’s language and communication skills.

Box of Hope Initiative

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

We are excited to announce that our school will participate in the 'Box of Hope' initiative again this year. Children can gather fun, practical, and educational items and place them in a decorated box to be sent to underprivileged children in Hong Kong and Asia. More information will be sent home tomorrow with your child. Click here to learn more about Box of Hope.

Announcing our House Captains
This week, we are thrilled to announce our House Captains during Friday's Assembly. Our House Captains will play a crucial role in launching our Greening Project in collaboration with the PTA. They will research the benefits of indoor plants and engage with students and teachers to select a variety of indoor plants for our school. Indoor plants not only enhance our learning environment but also improve the air quality and promote well-being. We're excited to see how this project unfolds.

Halloween Preparations
As Halloween approaches, the excitement is building! The children will be busy crafting props for our upcoming Halloween party, next week. It's a wonderful time for creativity and teamwork, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with.

Diwali Assembly
On Friday, November 1st, we look forward to our special Diwali Assembly. This celebration of light and joy is a meaningful occasion for many of our families. We warmly invite parents who celebrate Diwali to come in and share how you and your family observe this beautiful festival. Your stories and traditions will enrich our assembly and help our children learn about this important celebration.

If you are interested in participating in our assembly, please email me ruth.hanson@nais.hk and I can provide you with further details.

NAIS Sai Kung Open Morning 2nd November
We are also busy preparing for our NAIS Sai Kung Open Morning on Saturday, November 2nd. This event is a wonderful opportunity for prospective parents to learn more about our school and the vibrant learning community we foster.

Accompanied Stay and Play for Younger Children Every Wednesday Morning (18 months - 3 years old)
On Wednesdays, we will continue our Stay and Play sessions for children aged 18 months to 3 years. If you or someone you know has children in this age group, we invite you to join us for a morning filled with playful learning and exploration. Please contact Ms. Griffin at katrina.griffin@nais.hk for further information.

Parent Information Session and Literacy Celebration
Lastly, please hold the date for our second Parent Information Session on Thursday, November 7th at 8:45am – 10:00am. This session will focus on supporting young children's literacy development, providing insights into how we nurture and develop - language and communication, phonological awareness, reading, comprehension and writing.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We are looking forward to an exciting term ahead.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Hanson
