Today, our Student Voice Leaders introduced a range of actitvities in the Global Classroom. They spoke to our Years 4 to 7s about: the book "Walk Two Moons" by Sharon Greech in the Primary Book Club section; ideas for creating a song that is about both our school here in Hong Kong and our 31 other schools around the world; the "Somewhere Unforgettable" Creative Writing Competition and the winning project (with 105 votes) as part of the "Make it Right" Challenge -- to support the refugee children of Syria.
Here's more information on the School Song challenge:
Our students have been set a challenge from beyond the grave. A perhaps mythical education theorist who lived over 100 years ago named Jurgen Gladbach had a vision for a classroom that would cover the globe. He believed that music could be used to unite students from around the world. The Global Classroom has used his idea to set a challenge to create a song that is about both our school here in Hong Kong, the 31 other schools around the world and the ideas of connectivity and co-operation that are key to the Global Classroom. Please listen to the song here, share your ideas on the Global Classroom and speak to our Student Voice Leaders to submit any entries.
Please see the attached presentation for further details on all of these exciting activities in the Global Classroom.
