"Closer Look"
Art is one of the universal languages that all human beings understand and use to communicate. We use art to appreciate who we are, our places in the world, and the meaning of our lives. It allows us to express ourselves and to speak to others across time and place. Art enables us, for example, to "see" the world in different ways. Most students learn that art has a social as well as an aesthetic impact to communicate in ways that can be powerful.
An Art Exhibition fits well within our curriculum, allowing students to look and respond to their own work as well as to work done by others. All children love doing art at school and the Art Exhibition is a great opportunity for them to show off their talent to parents, teachers and friends. An exhibition allows them to see their work come to life.
The process included selecting their best artwork, trimming and mounting the work and then putting it in the correct size frames. The students have worked really hard to produce some well-presented final art pieces for the exhibition.
Some thoughts from our upcoming artists:
Ardini Wan Edrin (10A) – I liked talking to the students about my artwork, and the processes behind it and I look forward to learn different skills as I grow as an artist.
Manav Santhoshkumar (10N) – The primary students were inspired by our work and it was motivating to see their reaction.
Mohammed Al-Mudahka (10N) – I was very nervous about the speech at the opening ceremony, but I think people enjoyed it and it was well received.
