Secondary Weekly Update 08/12/2017 from Mr. Nick Lee We were all left wanting more after the amazing performances from our students in this year’s musical production of ‘Oliver’ From song and dance to London accented acting, we were dazzled by the cast who transformed our auditorium in Hanoi into the grim streets of 19th Century London.

"Please, sir, I want some more."

"What!" said the master at length, in a faint voice.

"Please, sir," replied Oliver, "I want some more."

Charles Dickens, ‘Oliver Twist’

We were all left wanting more after the amazing performances from our students in this year’s musical production of ‘Oliver’ From song and dance to London accented acting, we were dazzled by the cast who transformed our auditorium in Hanoi into the grim streets of 19th Century London.

The cast and production crew have spent months rehearsing, practicing the music, building the props and painting the set - it is six months since the auditions took place and so wonderful to see it all come together this week.

My thanks to Ms Olivia Hutchinson for directing and producing the show, to Ms Emma Corkery and Mr Glen Johnstone for painting the set and building the props, to Ms Emma Goldie for leading the backstage crew and to all the staff in the school for coping with all of the rehearsals and performances this week.

We now look forward to the last week of term with two of our great annual events.

On Monday, we will be having our annual sports day at the My Dinh stadium. Then on Wednesday we will be hosting our annual Christmas Market, where students have been working hard to develop stalls selling all manner of food and drink, trinkets and games. All of this is done to raise money for the Blue Dragon charity. It is always a joyful occasion and I am very much looking forward to it.

I hope that as many parents as possible will be able to come along and support the Christmas Market, as a wonderful way of ending the school term and as a way of starting the festive holiday period.

Term will finish next Friday with, as always, a shorter day. The school day will finish at 11:30am with the students going to lunch, and then buses will depart at 12:30 pm. Students should be off site by 1:00pm.

I hope you all have a great week ahead
