Dear everyone,
I'd like to start this week by celebrating some young achievers from the last week’s events.
Our Under 14 Boys football team played some outstanding football in the Hanoi Athletics Conference football tournament held last Saturday at the St. Paul American School. I watched this team play earlier in the year and on Saturday I was awe-inspired at how much they have progressed. The skills they displayed, the commitment to each other and the way they behaved to their opponents was wonderful to behold.
Last Friday, our Under 16 Boys basketball team beat BIS in order to finish the regular season top of the league, meaning they go into the final tournament as the favorites and number one seeds. This young team, Mr Perry assures me, have found collective strength in each other and have shown in each and every game that they will not give up, even when it gets tough. Good luck in the finals, boys!
More brilliant news as Luna in Year 8 this week won the Gold award for her rendition of Beethoven’s Sonata No.8 at the Asia Pacific Arts Festival, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She won this award in a festival against a field of 300 piano players in it. A wonderful achievement.
It was lovely to meet so many of you last Sunday at our Tet fair. There was such a lovely community spirit. I know many of you enjoyed it as much as I did. To all the students who performed on the stage, and to the teachers who helped run the stalls, and to all the marketing and maintenance staff who put the fair together, thank you for your collective efforts to make this community event a special way of marking the start of Tet.
Look what we can achieve when we all collaborate and support each other.
