BA(Hons), PG Dip, PGCE
I started teaching in 1995 when I moved to Alexandria, Egypt to work as an EAL teacher. During my time there I also taught Secondary History and English. I completed a Primary PGCE and taught in the UK for two years before moving to China in 2006. I worked for 11 years at the British School of Beijing in Shunyi. I took on a number of middle leadership roles as well as a senior leadership role overseeing the teaching assistants; recruitment, training and mentoring across the whole school.
I enjoy teaching all subjects in Primary and love learning new facts about our world. I especially love Early Years and play-based learning. I also enjoy teaching Phonics, reading and writing. I love encouraging children to challenge themselves and helping each and every child to grow in confidence, developing their potential, for example by peer teaching or by becoming a leader in a collaborative task or project.
