On Saturday 25 November, The British International School Shanghai, Puxi, in collaboration with Evergreen Homeland, successfully hosted the highly anticipated annual 5K Fun Run. Against the backdrop of the upcoming Shanghai Marathon, which was set to commence the following day, our shared commitment to promoting physical health and fostering a sense of community was the key factor in organising the Fun Run. Additionally, the event encouraged individuals to engage in an active lifestyle and provided an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the importance of well-being.
One of the highlights of the Fun Run was the remarkable level of community participation. People from all walks of life came together to participate in this joyous event, promoting a sense of unity and camaraderie within our community. The element of competition added an exciting edge, pushing participants to give their best and strive for personal achievement.
We cannot emphasise enough the significance of the support provided by Evergreen Homeland. Their dedication to promoting health and wellness within the community is truly commendable. The event would not have been possible without their assistance and the use of their stunning grounds, which provided the perfect backdrop for the participants to enjoy.
The winning time of 19:17 by Juul Loos, our BISS Year 9 athlete, showcases the exceptional talent and determination of our participants. Their hard work and training paid off, setting a high standard for future Fun Runs. We are thrilled to celebrate their achievements and look forward to witnessing even more remarkable performances in the years to come.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Evergreen Homeland for their support and to all the participants and staff who made the 2023 BISS 5K Fun Run a resounding success. This event truly exemplified the spirit of community and the power of coming together for a common goal.
