Open Days
On the evening of Thursday 7 September, an engaging and informative session took place at BISS Puxi, with the participation of more than 60 enthusiastic attendees. This session was specifically tailored to our IBDP Korean students and their parents, providing valuable insights into the intricate landscape of Korean university admissions.
Our Korean parents and students received a warm welcome from our Head of Secondary, Mr Andrew Joy. Additionally, the Head of IB, Dr Alex Cattell, and the Head of Higher Education Guidance, Mr Alex Olya, were present to support this special evening.
During the session, Jessie Lee, our dedicated Korean Higher Education Advisor, delved deep into the eligibility criteria for both the 3-year and 12-year special entrance tracks, leaving no detail unexplored. She also shed light on the multifaceted admission assessment processes, which encompass 'document-based', 'test-based', 'interview-based' and hybrid approaches that combine these elements. It was an enlightening presentation.
Furthermore, she emphasised the fundamental qualities that Korean universities seek in prospective students, highlighting the significance of 'academic competence', 'career competence' and 'community competence'.
This event served as an exceptional opportunity not only to educate both parents and students but also to foster open communication. It ignited meaningful conversations about university choices and career paths, promoting a stronger connection among students, parents and the school.
BISS Puxi extends its best wishes for success in your Korean university admissions journey!

Over the past week, BISS students in Tanzania have been engaging in meaningful activities, exploring the culture and contributing to the local community.
On 16–17 December 2024, Coach Kimrossi Taylor from IMG Academy led a transformative basketball clinic at BISS Puxi. This two-day event was more than just a training session—it was an opportunity for student-athletes to experience the mindset, accountability, and elite coaching for which IMG Academy is renowned. Players honed essential skills such as ball handling, shooting, catching, passing, and decision-making, but the true value lay in what Coach Taylor taught them beyond the drills.
