While the production teams may vary, and the students may change, the quality of Performing Arts remains consistently excellent. This has been especially true over the past few years due to the collaboration between our school and Juilliard.

Tanzania Dress-up Day fundraiser for the Kiwawa school

On Friday 6 November, all students at BISS Puxi had the opportunity to dress up in animal costumes, safari-themed clothes, or Tanzania flag colours to fundraise for the charity Seeway Tanzania.

Oh, the Places You'll Go - Seussical is Coming Soon!

We would like to confirm our dates and show times for Seussical. Due to the current restrictions we are still unable to invite parents onto the site to watch the show. As such, we have arranged for two performances to be streamed live, with each performance starting at 14:00 with an expected ending time of 15:15.

Every year, on the third Tuesday of September, the Dutch government announces their plans for the upcoming year. To celebrate this special event called ‘Prinsjesdag’, consul-general Mr van Wijngaarden traditionally visits Shanghai Dutch School. This year we had the honor of receiving a personalized video message.

It’s great to be back. The school is starting to feel like the BISS Puxi of August 2019, before all of the quarantine and supervision rules and staggered leaving times. It has been a long summer with many people working hard to ensure the school has taken all of the necessary steps to ensure we were able to open again safely.

Our Virtual Choir

In order to help keep our community connected we invited students, parents, and teachers to participate in regular 'Virtual Choir' rehearsals. This was made possible thanks to the use of Microsoft Teams which we introduced to families through our NAESVE programme. We welcomed over 90 members to the choir which included established singers, and those new to singing!

Now, as in life we are all faced with challenging moments. Through no fault of our own we find ourselves facing ambiguous situations, challenging relationships, worries and fears. The COVID-19 situation has required us to study and work at home and thrown us out of our usual routine. It has deprived us of some of our usual coping mechanisms such as going to the gym or getting a quick bite with friends. This can be extremely unsettling. We are delighted to announce that as part of Nord Anglia’s partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 104 students from 26 schools will once again have the opportunity to travel to MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, to participate in the annual STEAM week @ MIT.
