Parent and visitor entry to BISS Puxi campus has been restricted during the last 18 months as the school has followed the guidelines of the SEC (Shanghai Education Committee). There are clear criteria in place relating to travel, health and daily entry for pupils to the school grounds.
Our Year 8 students have made an excellent start to the year. So much so, that some students having already received praise emails from teachers to parents because it is not just about the relationships between students and teachers that count. If we forget about parents, then we miss out a significant part of the jigsaw puzzle. At BISS, we believe the most effective relationships are built on positive communication. Erik Cuc, Lucas Yu-Cheng and Liam Webb were amongst the students who were recognised recently during assembly time for their positive contributions to school life.
There have been a number of questions regarding the lunch provision in school and we want to reassure our parents that we take this feedback seriously. There has been a meeting with John (our Head Chef and Catering Manager) who is keen to provide a good service and he will be feeding back to his staff about the specific questions and concerns about food preparation and how this can be improved.
Every year, on the third Tuesday of September, the Dutch government announces their plans for the upcoming year. To celebrate this special event called ‘Prinsjesdag’, consul-general Mr van Wijngaarden traditionally visits Shanghai Dutch School.
