We are very proud to share the results of our Seniors at the British International School of Chicago, South Loop. Our students achieved exceptional results in this year’s International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

For the 2018/19 academic year, British International School of Chicago, South Loop achieved a pass rate of 96%. The average score was 34.3, an increase from 2017/18's 30.1 and significantly higher than the IBDP global average of 29.62, widening the gap between the school and other IB schools around the world. This result also showcases the difference that Nord Anglia Education schools bring to students’ academic results.

We are delighted to announce that 17% of our students from our school achieved 40 points and above. This is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world's elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Columbia, and Stanford. We are thrilled to announce that one of our students achieved a perfect score of 45, which is done by only 0.4% of students.

“Year after year, I am so proud of our Nord Anglia students who — through their dedication — achieve results that exceed global averages for the IB Diploma,” said Andy Puttock, Group Education Director, Nord Anglia Education.

“This year’s results powerfully show how our students benefit from world-leading teachers who go beyond traditional education to inspire them toward success,” he said. “I’m proud of what our IB-offering schools have achieved this academic year and wish our graduating seniors a fantastic summer as they begin preparing for life after leaving their Nord Anglia school.”

All of us here at British International School of Chicago, South Loop would like to congratulate our graduating seniors from the 2018/2019 academic year. These students have put in incredible hard work over the years and we can’t wait to see what they do in the future.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is coveted by universities worldwide for a reason. To succeed in the IB, students have to perform at a high level across a wide range of subjects consistently for two years. They need to demonstrate independence, resilience and creativity as well as being “book smart” and the results achieved by our Seniors should not be underestimated. I am delighted to see that all of their hard work and determination has been rewarded with excellent results and I am confident that, as IB graduates, they will find the transition to college far easier than many of their peers. While none of the Class of 2019 will need luck, I will still wish them all the best for the next chapter in their lives!

Every Nord Anglia international school supports its students to achieve more than they may have thought possible, so a huge congratulations to all our graduates for a job well done!
