The High School Boys Soccer Team has won the Championship for the second straight year! The Bulldogs entered the final with confidence after an incredible regular season. The goal? Maintain an undefeated season against Lycee Francais.

The game started tentatively and after 15 minutes, Lycee took the lead 1-0. We fought back straight away with a goal from Emre and leveled the score 1-1. Thanks to a superb free kick from Michael, the boys stole the lead but were pegged back to 2-2 going into half-time. At the start of the second half, the boys’ desire to claim a second straight title was on full display. Chris upped the score 4-2 with great goals. What felt like a comfortable, imminent win shifted fast with strong resistance from Lycee. The competitors pegged back another goal. Then, Emre rebounded a missed penalty kick by Michael, bringing the score up to 5-3. Lycee went on the counter attack and gained a penalty kick of their own, which they converted, leading to a score of 5-4. Finally, in the dying embers of the game, a long-range shot from Von was misjudged by the goalkeeper, and bounced straight over his head and into an open goal. It was 6-4 when the whistle finally blew, to the delight of the team and supporters alike!

An excellent performance in the championship was the icing on a very exceptional season. Man of the match went to Von for a sterling performance as a defensive rock in the midfield and an exceptional goal to end the game.

Congratulations to all the players. Way to bring back the trophy!
